A little while ago, I noticed this growing, and at first thought maybe it was a weed, then maybe watermelon or cantaloupe. But as it kept growing, and after some investigation, I learned that they’re pumpkins. And I’m so excited! I was planning on trying to grow some this year anyway, but nature was a step ahead. Apparently, the seeds that ended up on the ground from pumpkin carving on the front porch last year, waited patiently until just the right time of year to start growing. Nature is awesome.
You can see the tell-tale curly vines that pumpkin plants have, and I’ve counted about 8 buds. Hopefully by fall I’ll have some big, beautiful pumpkins!
