Excuse me while I complain for a minute, because I think I’ve earned it. From the hours of 7:00 am to 4 pm, I sold exactly ONE item: a pair of earrings for $5. I literally got bit by mosquitoes upwards of 20 times. I’m allergic. They swell to the size of silver dollars. Even though I sat under a canopy, I got sunburned. It was 95 degrees, the hottest weekend of the WHOLE summer is this very one. And the humidity? I don’t even wanna talk about it. So I’m kinda pissed. And frustrated and sad and tired and irritated.
You know what I hate? People who have NEVER handmade anything in their lives, yet think they have the right to say that $15 hat you’re selling is over-priced. Go die in a fire.
Did I mention I’m also really irritable?
I am going back tomorrow, but if I don’t sell anything by noon, I’m packing up and coming home, and making myself a strong drink.
Bright and early in the morning, it’s time for the Flea Market. I’m trying not to be nervous or apprehensive, but it’s my nature. Anyway, I’ve spent the day putting on finishing touches and price tags, and gathering everything up to haul out tomorrow morning. Just finished all my football helmet hats today, too.
I think I’ve pretty much got everything stowed away. I’ll probably check a million times. Wish me luck!
I actually fell asleep in a chair out on the patio for a while when I was out there crocheting. There’s a nice breeze today, bringing in the scent of freshly mowed grass and the sound of rustling leaves.
Mr. Waits, you’re always a comfort. Especially on these lonely nights.
So we’ve been working on getting some wreaths ready, and it’s been pretty fun. Anything to do with fall, I’m in. We’re also making It’s A Boy/Girl wreaths, and as soon as the good Halloween stuff is out, I will definitely be making Halloween wreaths. Other than that, I’ve been making more hats, mostly the team themed mohawk hats, because I feel those are going to do well around here. I have a huge list of things I want to make for the upcoming fall and Halloween season, and as I’ve said before, I need 10 hands.
One more month of stinky, humid summer, and then AUTUMN, the best time of the year. I got a cinnamon pumpkin candle and Bath & Body Works and can’t wait to light it up. And then Halloween decorations for outside, making something to eat with pumpkin in it everyday, scary movies and books, leaves, cider, and on and on. I am in love with fall, always have been, and I am impatiently awaiting its arrival.
Flea Market open on Labor Day weekend. I’m still nervous about it, but hopefully all will be well.
Sold one of my hats to my dad’s friend for his granddaughter and look how cute she is!
